Dear Seibukan USA Friends and Students,

As I’m sure you know, 2012 marks the 50^th Anniversary of the opening of the Seibukan dojo in Okinawa.  Over those 50 years, Shimabukuro Sensei has selflessly and tirelessly provided knowledge and mentoring to the students of the Seibukan method.   To commemorate this milestone Seibukan USA would like to give to Sensei Zenpo a token of our appreciation for his efforts.  Of course, we need funds in order to acquire a suitable gift. Thus, we are requesting that each of you ask of your students that they contribute whatever amount they feel comfortable donating.  We want to give every student the opportunity to participate in the gift giving.  Since this will be from Seibukan USA, the more dojos that participate, the better.

Sensei Smith has asked me to chair the gift selection committee.   Please forward the donations you receive from your students to me.  In order to provide everyone time to collect the money, and still allow time for selection of a gift, I have set a deadline of June 15^th for getting the funds to me.   Donate by PayPal.

We would also greatly appreciate any gift suggestions you may have.  In fact, I encourage your input!  All ideas will be reviewed by the committee.

There is a big celebration planned for October in Okinawa.  The gift will be presented there.
